
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) on Monday honoured Professor Musa Obalola, the immediate previous Dean of Trainee Affairs (DSA), in recognition of his impactful period.
The quick event was held throughout the University Management’s weekly conference at the Vice-Chancellor’s Boardroom on the 10th Floor of the UNILAG Senate House.
Speaking at the event, Vice-Chancellor Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, said the gathering was organised to “acknowledge, congratulate, and celebrate Teacher Obalola for an impactful tenure that was commonly valued by the trainee community.”
She applauded him for earning and sustaining the respect and goodwill of trainees, noting that his management contributed significantly to the environment of peace and stability within the University throughout his term.
Members of the University Management also admired Professor Obalola for his devotion to safeguarding trainees’ rights while maintaining discipline, highlighting his maturity, wisdom, diligence, persistence, and professionalism throughout his four-year tenure as substantive Dean.
In his remarks, Teacher Obalola expressed thankfulness to God and the University Management, keeping in mind that their support allowed the administration to achieve significant successes in student affairs.
Professor Obalola had actually previously worked as Deputy Dean of Trainee Affairs from October 2020 to October 2021, and as Performing Dean from November 2021 to March 2022, before being designated substantive Dean in March 2022. His tenure stressed useful engagement between the administration and trainees while preserving peace and stability within the institution.
