
AKURE, NIGERIA– In a decisive crackdown on increasing indiscipline across public secondary schools, the Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has put 27 trainees on immediate and indefinite suspension.
The disciplinary action, which was validated on Monday, July 13, 2026, targets trainees throughout 3 prominent public organizations within the state capital: Oyemekun Grammar School, Aquinas College, and CAC Grammar School.
According to state officials, the suspensions follow consistent reports of unruly behaviour, physical altercations, and gross offenses of the state’s harmonised Standard procedure for public schools.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Akindele Ige, personally visited the three affected institutions to enforce the suspension orders and hold emergency situation regulatory conferences with school principals, vice-principals, and departmental heads.
