
The principal of Neighborhood High School, Ahoro-Esiele, Mrs. Rachael Alamu, has actually revealed that the abductors who abducted pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Location of Oyo State executed 2 teachers in captivity to force the federal government into accepting their needs.
Mrs. Alamu made the discovery on Monday throughout the official handover of the saved students and instructors to the Oyo State Federal Government at the Executive Chamber of the Guv’s Office in Ibadan.
Recounting the 56-day experience, she stated the kidnappers subjected the victims to fear, psychological abuse and inhumane conditions while holding them in the forest. According to her, the killing of the two instructors was a purposeful method to daunt the captives and pressure the government into working out with the abductors.
She revealed appreciation to God for preserving the lives of the remaining victims and thanked the Nigerian Army, other security firms, the Oyo State Federal Government and all those who contributed to the rescue operation.
The victims restored their liberty on July 10 following an intelligence-led operation involving the Nigerian Army, the Office of the National Security Advisor, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Flying Force, the Nigerian Navy, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Amotekun Corps, regional hunters and vigilantes. The operation also caused the arrest of several suspects linked to the kidnapping.
The pupils and teachers were abducted on May 15, 2026, when armed men assaulted schools in Oriire City government Location, triggering across the country outrage. During the duration of captivity, among the abducted instructors, Michael Oyedokun, was beheaded, while another teacher was also eliminated by the abductors.
The effective rescue of the staying slaves ended almost 2 months of unpredictability for their households and marked the conclusion of one of the most prominent school kidnapping cases in the South-West in the last few years.
