OFEREKPE, EBONYI STATE— The Ebonyi State University of Details and Interaction Technology, Oferekpe (UICTO), has officially gotten in the record of history with its maiden admission ceremony.
Hung on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the university’s long-term website in Izzi Local Government Area, the occasion marked the official induction of 187 pioneer students into the specialized institution.
The Visitor to the University and Guv of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Ogbonna Nwifuru, explained the ceremony as a “dream come to life” and a tactical action to the country’s unpleasant joblessness rates.
Unlike traditional scholastic organizations, UICTO has been created as a specialized hub for strategic outcomes. Guv Nwifuru emphasized that the university’s curriculum is strictly customized through modular systems intended to produce task creators rather than job hunters.
“The rate of unemployment is troubling, and just entrepreneurship education can empower our youths,” the Guv noted.
He discussed that the university’s focus is on economic self-reliance, encouraging graduates to “think outside the box” and offer ingenious options to real-world problems.
Resolving the 187 matriculants, Governor Nwifuru advised them of their special status as the structure of the organization. He noted that their names would become engraved on a plaque at the Senate Building to celebrate their function as the very first friend.

The Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Professor Ernest Ituma Egba, and his management group were charged to keep uncompromised academic quality.
Governor Nwifuru urged the leadership to prioritize trainee well-being and impactful research that addresses local challenges in the Oferekpe Agbaja neighborhood and beyond.
Professor Ituma Egba, in his action, admired the Guv for the huge investment in the school’s facilities, describing the project as an “financial investment in the technological sovereignty” of Ebonyi State and Nigeria.
