
President Bola Tinubu has designated previous Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, as the brand-new Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The appointment was revealed in a statement issued on Monday by the President’s Unique Adviser on Info and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the Presidency, Ogundipe succeeds Olufemi Raphael Aina, who resigned from the position less than a year after his visit.

He holds a PhD in Botany from Obafemi Awolowo University and an MBA from the University of Lagos. The 66-year-old scholar currently works as Pro-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University.
Ogundipe is a fellow of numerous expert bodies, including the Nigerian Academy of Science, the Linnean Society of London, and the Royal Society of Biology.
