IBADAN, OYO– A 58-year-old part-time instructor, Olubunmi Adebayo, was arraigned before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Friday for alleged misconduct and disruptive behavior following her termination by school management.

The defendant deals with a one-count charge of conduct most likely to trigger a breach of public peace. She pleaded not guilty to the charge throughout her official reading before the bench.

Rejection to Leave Property After Disciplinary Termination

The prosecution counsel, Inspector Olagoke Adegbenro, notified the court that the event took place on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at approximately 5:50 p.m. within the properties of the Smart School situated in the Ido local government area of Ibadan.

According to the authorities manifest, the management of the personal institution had formally ended Ms. Adebayo’s part-time employment contract due to unresolved internal administrative issues.

Following the announcement of her termination, the defendant presumably threw a major tantrum, creating an uproar, shouting at school authorities, and flatly declining to abandon the scholastic facilities.

The turmoil apparently interfered with after-school administrative activities, forcing the school authorities to hire law enforcement operatives to bring back order.

The prosecutor kept that her actions directly violated Area 249(d) of the Crook Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Judicial Bail Metrics and Subsequent Adjournment

Following her non-guilty plea, the presiding magistrate, Mr. Olasinmibo Sanusi, evaluated the application for bail submitted by the defense counsel.

Magistrate Sanusi admitted the defendant to bail in the amount of 50,000, with one surety in like sum.

The court added a strict verification clause, directing that the executing surety must be a confirmed blood relation of the accused.

The matter was consequently adjourned till Tuesday, July 14, 2026, for official reference.
