At the heart of the task is a training and recruitment program that will take place in Gliwice, Poland. Individuals will check out three steel plants, a steel research study institute, and a metallurgy museum, and, for instance, discuss profession pathways in the steel market in working groups. The focus will be on challenges such as the scarcity of skilled workers, modifications produced by digitalization, and the market’s image. In addition, the job partners will assess the existing state of innovation advancement, present de-carbonization scenarios, and review existing recruitment and credentials activities.
Connecting social and technological developments
The Social Research Center Dortmund brings its comprehensive proficiency in linking social and technological developments to the task: “In the past, we have already conducted research study on the proficiency requirements of a sustainable steel and process industry, and specifically on social innovation and industrial transformation,” says Antonius Schröder of the sfs. The sfs group– Antonius Schröder, Adrian Götting, and Beata Lewandowska– will examine the job’s recruitment and certification activities, provide scientific support for the training programs, and establish strategies to enhance recruitment in the steel sector.
SUPER is funded by the EU for two years, collaborated by VDEh Betriebsforschungsinstitut GmbH Düsseldorf (BFI), and implemented in cooperation with six partner organizations and one associated partner. The outcomes are intended to help form European techniques for a socially and ecologically sustainable market.
