The University of Texas at Austin got a $750 million commitment from Michael and Susan Dell for a new research study school and medical center, according to media reports. The donation will also go toward undergraduate scholarships, student housing and the university’s advanced computing center, UT Austin stated in the statement.

The UT Dell Medical Center is anticipated to open in 2030 with a focus on using expert system and advanced computing in client diagnosis and treatment.Officials plan to have the medical center sit at the center of the UT Dell School for Advanced Research, which is planned to unite research study and scientific care.

Their donation is on top of a $100 million gift from investor Tench Coxe and his spouse, Simone, for the academic medical center.

Building the medical facility complex was initially projected to cost $2.5 billion, though officials anticipate estimates to change, Dr. Claudia Lucchinetti, the dean of UT Austin’s medical school, informed the Austin American Statesman. The university is planning extra fundraising for the task, according to the publication.
