The video, which has triggered outrage online, shows a student supposedly assaulting another while other students watch. Nevertheless, the former student claimed the incident captured in the clip represents just a fraction of the abuse that allegedly occurred within the school throughout her time there.
Reacting in a video published on social networks, the alumna said the commonly shared clip was mild compared to the experiences lots of trainees endured while attending the school.
“I was taking a little psychological health break from Instagram, however somebody sent me a video about my alma mater, Igbinedion Secondary School in Benin City, and I needed to come online since when I used to discuss what we went through there, it seemed like I was making things up,” she said.

She even more claimed that students were avoided from informing their moms and dads about the attack.
“Trainees who tried to warn parents not to bring their kids to the school the next day were stopped, and a few of us were locked in the dorms so we could not call our households,” she said.
The former trainee declared that the harsh environment at the school left lasting psychological results on lots of students.
“Kid attempted suicide simply to get away life in that school. Some eventually signed up with the culture of violence simply to make it through,” she said.
She also shared a deeply personal account of her own struggles throughout that duration. “I personally jumped off a building in the year 2000 due to the fact that I was trying to get out of that school,” she exposed.
