The Federal Ministry of Education has actually announced plans to assemble a top-level stakeholders’ workshop on the Nigeria Education Data Infrastructure (NEDI) as part of efforts to reinforce education information management and digital improvement across the country.

According to a news release provided on Wednesday, the workshop is set up to hang on Thursday, May 14, 2026, and will combine crucial stakeholders from the education sector, government institutions, examination bodies, development partners, and the media.

The Ministry mentioned that the effort is targeted at developing an unified and dependable nationwide education data system capable of integrating and harmonising data across basic, secondary, and tertiary institutions, as well as pertinent agencies across the country.

The declaration explained that the Nigeria Education Data Facilities is developed to work as a central platform for education data management, offering accurate and prompt details to support evidence-based policymaking, improve openness and accountability, and boost preparation within the sector.

As part of the task advancement procedure, the Ministry engaged Ernst & Young (EY) to support the design of the system architecture and integration structure that will connect essential education data sources throughout the nation.

The workshop is likewise expected to display progress made on the initiative, demonstrate how institutions and companies will integrate into the platform, and supply an avenue for stakeholder feedback ahead of full implementation.

The Ministry kept in mind that the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Program and reflects the Federal government’s commitment to building a technology-driven education sector anchored on reliable information and development.
