Delta State University, DELSU, has actually revised the academic calendar for the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic session. The upgraded calendar sets out the return date for trainees, lecture duration, modification week, examination dates, Senate consideration of results, and the semester break. For trainees tracking the term closely, the crucial dates are now set out in

Tabulation Trainees return and lectures start All trainees are to go back to school on Sunday, 19 April 2026.
Lectures will begin on Monday, 20 April 2026. Senate
consideration of first term results The consideration of very first semester outcomes by Senate will take place on Wednesday, 29 April 2026. CA submission and end of
lectures The last day for submission of Continuous Assessment, CA, scores to the Workplace of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) is Thursday, 16 July 2026.
Lectures will end on Friday, 17 July 2026.
Modification and second term examinations
Modification will run from Monday, 20 July to Friday, 24 July 2026.
Second term evaluations will begin on Monday, 27 July 2026, and end on Friday, 14 August 2026.
2nd term break
The 2nd semester break will begin on Friday, 14 August 2026. The break will last 12 weeks.
Senate factor to consider of second term results
Senate will consider the 2nd semester results on Wednesday, 23 September 2026.
End of break and start of new session
The 2nd term break will end on Friday, 6 November 2026.
The first semester of the 2026/2027 scholastic session will start on Monday, 9 November 2026.
Note on the very first term holiday
The very first semester vacation for the 2025/2026 scholastic session will begin on Friday, 3 April 2026, and end on Friday, 17 April 2026.
