Governor Dapo Abiodun has once again highlighted his administration’s willpower to return missionary schools in Ogun State to their initial owners, stressing that stronger collaboration with faith-based organizations is essential to sustainable development.
The governor spoke while hosting the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, Archbishop Michael Francis Crotty, alongside Catholic bishops and church leaders, where discussions fixated broadening partnerships in education, health care, and social advancement.
According to Abiodun, the choice to return missionary schools lines up with his administration’s more comprehensive vision of inclusive governance and shared obligation. “We have declared our commitment to returning missionary schools in Ogun State to their initial owners as part of our wider effort to strengthen collaborations in the education and health sectors,” he mentioned.
He noted that federal government efforts alone are inadequate to satisfy the growing needs of society, highlighting the enduring contributions of religious organizations. “Federal government can not drive development alone. We acknowledge the essential role faith-based institutions continue to play in promoting education, health care, peace, and social stability.”
The governor likewise lauded the tranquil coexistence amongst religious groups in the state, explaining it as a cornerstone of Ogun’s progress. “We take pride in the spiritual harmony that specifies our state and value the ongoing support and prayers of the faithful,” he stated.
