Babcock University has distanced itself from a purported scholastic certificate flowing on social media and apparently connected to popular Nigerian material creator and comedian, Carter Efe, declaring the document phony and warning that those responsible for its creation or circulation might face legal repercussions.
In a public notice dated June 29, 2026, the university said it had become mindful of fraudulent documents being flowed by individuals wrongly declaring associations with the institution and having scholastic certificates and differences supposedly released by the university.
According to the institution, among the documents in blood circulation is an alleged “Honorary Certificate” provided to Oderohiwo Joseph Efe, popularly known as Carter Efe, which claims he received a “First Class Upper” degree.

The institution described that it does not issue honorary certificates in acknowledgment of undergraduate scholastic efficiency.
