
International Master’s programs
Under the name “International Academy for German Engineering and Science” (IAGES), the University Alliance Ruhr– Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), TU Dortmund University and the University of Duisburg-Essen– and Hochschule Düsseldorf– University of Applied Sciences (HSD) will likewise offer brand-new degree programs there in the future, with the aim of protecting experienced professionals in the following areas: energy system conversion, sustainability and digitalization. These programs are currently being established by the Akademie der Ruhr-Universität in Bochum in close assessment with the partner universities. To this end, the Akademie der Ruhr-Universität has actually also signed a lease for new premises on the EUREF-Campus in Düsseldorf, where a distinct instructional concept is developing: International Master’s programs with a strong useful focus offer the young specialists of tomorrow further training in a real-world lab geared to the energy shift. “By moving onto the EUREF-Campus, we are creating a brand-new center for innovative, sustainable and practice-oriented further education in the middle of North Rhine-Westphalia,” said Dr. Yves Gensterblum, Handling Director of the Academy. “We are bringing science, business and politics together here to train the skilled employees who will actively shape the energy shift.”
Space for innovation
The new facilities cover around 900 m2, with cutting edge workshop and media equipment. In the future, they will be utilized for study purposes, in-service certificate courses and practice-oriented transfer activities. The third area consists of the brand-new “Masterclass in Lunch & Learn Format”, which will occur on school every Tuesday at 12 pm from 25 November onward. This format unites trainees, teaching staff and company agents for an open conversation of existing topics associated with the energy transition and sustainability changes.
The very first students are already benefiting this winter season term from company scholarships offered by the EUREF partners Schneider Electric and SPIE.
