The University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT, has released the revised
academic calendar for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions. The calendar covers full-time students and the Sandwich Program; it also provides dates for lectures, registration, assessments, SIWES,
modification, getaway and Senate meetings. Table of contents First Term Break Full-time students will observe the first semester break from Monday, 4 May to Friday, 15 May 2026.
The break will last for 2 weeks.
On Wednesday, 27 May 2026, the Senate will hold an Extra-Ordinary Fulfilling to consider the First Semester 2025/2026 session outcomes.
Second Term Calendar for 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Sessions
The second term calendar starts with the return of students and runs through lectures, modification, assessments and trip.
Trainees participating in the Trainee Industrial Work Scheme, SIWES, will have their programme from May to October 2026.
Resumption and Lectures
All students will arrive on Sunday, 17 May 2026.
Academic activities will begin on Monday, 18 May 2026, and will continue until Friday, 14 August 2026. This provides students 13 weeks of scholastic work.
Lectures for all trainees will likewise begin on Monday, 18 May 2026.
Costs and Registration Dates
The due date for payment of the second instalment charges is Friday, 19 June 2026.
Registration for the 2nd instalment payment will close on Friday, 26 June 2026.
End of Lectures, SUG Week and Modification
Lectures will end on Friday, 14 August 2026.
Constant Assessment scores will be sent to the Academic Workplace on Friday, 16 August 2026.
The Students’ Union Government, SUG Week, will range from Monday, 17 August to Saturday, 22 August 2026.
Students will then have one week for modification, from Monday, 24 August to Friday, 28 August 2026.
Second Term Evaluations and Trip
2nd semester evaluations will run for four weeks, from Monday, 31 August to Friday, 25 September 2026.
After the evaluations, all trainees will proceed on long trip from Monday, 28 September to Friday, 30 October 2026.
The Senate will hold an Extra-Ordinary Satisfying on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, to think about the 2nd Term 2025/2026 session outcomes.
UNIPORT Sandwich Program Calendar
The Sandwich Program has its own schedule for registration, lectures, revision and evaluations.
Fresh and returning Sandwich trainees will show up from Monday, 6 July to Friday, 10 July 2026.
Throughout that duration, registration will begin, students will resume contact with Student Affairs, and fresh trainees will participate in orientation.
Sandwich Lectures
Lectures for all Sandwich students will begin on Monday, 13 July 2026.
The lecture duration will run for 9 weeks, from Monday, 13 July to Friday, 11 September 2026.
Continuous Assessment scores will reach the Academic Workplace on Friday, 4 September 2026.
Lectures will end on Friday, 11 September 2026.
Sandwich Revision, Assessments and Senate Satisfying
Sandwich trainees will revise for one week, from Monday, 14 September to Friday, 18 September 2026.
Examinations for all Sandwich trainees will run from Monday, 21 September to Saturday, 26 September 2026.
On Wednesday, 29 October 2026, the Senate will hold an Extra-Ordinary Meeting to think about the Sandwich Program 2025 outcomes.
