The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, made the statement during the 242nd Senate meeting of the university.
The conference was kept in 2026 at the Zephaniah Madubuko Auditorium, Faculty of Social Sciences, UNIZIK.
For graduands waiting for the school’s next ceremonial step, this offers a clear date range; June 17 to June 20 is now the window to see.
What the Convocation Will Cover
Prof. Anyaehie stated the yearly convocation ceremony will enable graduands from the 2024/2025 academic session to get their certificates.
The program will likewise include the award of honorary degrees.
Emeritus Professorial titles will be bestowed throughout the ceremony too.
Possible Second Convocation Later in 2026
The 7th Substantive Vice-Chancellor likewise said there is a chance that another convocation ceremony may hold before the end of the year.
That second ceremony has been tentatively set for November 2026.
The proposed November date coincides with the birthday of the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, likewise called Zik of Africa.
