ABUJA, FCT– The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed an extension for the sale of 2026 Direct Entry (DE) application, moving the deadline to May 8, 2026.

The choice, aimed at making sure all eligible candidates have the chance to get tertiary education, was revealed by JAMB’s Public Communication Consultant, Fabian Benjamin, in a declaration launched on Wednesday.

In addition to the timeframe extension by JAMB, the Board has actually authorized 5 new registration centres throughout the country to relieve pressure in high-demand regions.

Newly Approved Registration Centres:

  • Kwara State: Centre for Open and Distance Knowing (CODL), Mini School, University of Ilorin.

  • Ogun State (Ota): Bells University of Technology, Km 8, Idiroko Road.

  • Ogun State (Ago-Iwoye): Olabisi Onabanjo University, Centre 1.

  • Oyo State: Prof. Usman E-Learning Centre, Federal College of Education (Unique), Oyo.

  • Lagos State: Person Advancement Efforts (Grace House), Onike, Sabo (Beginning April 30, 2026).

Potential candidates are encouraged that all JAMB workplaces nationwide, including Expert Registration Centres (PRCs) and Expert Evaluating Centres (PTCs), remain completely functional throughout of the exercise.

The Board emphasises that the DE window is specifically for prospects looking for admission into the second year (200 Level) of a degree program via A-level results, diplomas, or other recognised professional certifications.

With the new due date quickly approaching, JAMB encourages candidates to use the recently authorized centres to prevent last-minute hurries.

Candidates are likewise reminded to ensure their confirmation files from awarding organizations (such as ND, HND, or NCE) are up-to-date to prevent delays in the registration procedure.
