The University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT, has required applications for the 2026/2027 academic session under the TAGDev 2.0 Programme. The program is run by the Regional Universities Forum for Capability Building in Agriculture, RUFORUM, in collaboration with the Mastercard Structure and several African universities. It is aimed at young Africans studying farming and related fields.

a 10-year program running from 2023 to 2033. The scheme is set up to support universities and technical institutions throughout Africa. It focuses on providing trainees the abilities needed for inclusive, fair, and climate-resilient farming change. For UNIPORT applicants, that focus appears; agriculture sits at the centre of it.
Who can make an application for the UNIPORT TAGDev scholarship
The award is meant for students who are academically capable but face monetary challenge.
Female applicants, refugees, and individuals with disabilities are highly encouraged to apply.
Eligibility requirements
Candidates need to:
- Be Nigerian people or refugees living in Nigeria
- Originate from financially disadvantaged or marginalised communities
- Be under 25 years for undergraduate study
- Be under thirty years for master’s study
- Meet UNIPORT admission requirements
- Show interest in farming, management, and community modification

The TAGDev scholarship is totally funded.

How to look for the UNIPORT TAGDev scholarship
The application procedure has 3 phases.
Stage 1: Total the online form
Applicants are to finish the online Google application.
Stage 2: Request admission
Undergraduate applicants should use through JAMB.
Postgraduate candidates should use through the UNIPORT School of Graduate Researches.
Phase 3: Use through RIMS
Applicants need to also make an application for the scholarship through the RUFORUM Details Management System, RIMS.
