The National Examinations Council, NECO, has actually formally launched the timetable for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Assessment, BECE, also called Junior WAEC.
The assessment will range from Monday, 20 April 2026 to Thursday, 30 April 2026. For schools, moms and dads, and prospects, this schedule sets the pace early; every paper now has a set date and time.

What schools and prospects ought to keep in mind
NECO also listed essential guidelines for schools and prospects. These points are Authorities, and each one matters on the test day.
- Every prospect needs to have a photocard for identification.
- Where the time on the question paper varies from the time on the schedule, the time on the question paper should be followed strictly.
- Practicals in Organization Research Studies and Basic Science and Technology (BST) should be taken in sets where the number of prospects is big and equipment can not go round.
- The useful assessment should not go beyond 5:00 pm.
- Computers can be used for Business Studies.
- Albinos and blind candidates are to be given 30 mins additional time in all subjects.
- Blind prospects should use the NECO-supplied OBR Customised Braille Sheet for the assessment.
- Usage of easy calculator is enabled.
- Electronic interaction gadgets are prohibited in the evaluation hall. This consists of programmable calculators, cellphones, iPads, tablets, wise wrist watches, wise glasses, and wise pens.
