Delta State University, Abraka has revealed the schedule for its 18th Convocation Event for the 2024/2025 scholastic session. The notification covers Routine, Sandwich, SLT, Weekend, Part-time, and Affiliate graduands. It also attends to moms and dads, guardians, welcomed guests, and the general public. The program includes the award of diplomas, admission into first degrees, award of higher degrees, prizes, the investiture of Teacher Emeritus, and the conferment of honorary degrees.

Collection of academic dress and scrolls
Collection of academic dress and scrolls will range from Monday, 20 April to Thursday, 30 April 2026.
The last date for the return of gowns is Monday, 4 May 2026.
Day 1: Friday, 24 April 2026
Jumat Prayers for Muslim members of the DELSU neighborhood.
Day 2: Sunday, 26 April 2026
Pre-Convocation Service at St. Paul Catholic Chaplaincy, Site II, Abraka School by 8.30 a.m.
Day 3: Tuesday, 28 April 2026
- Vice-Chancellor’s Interview by 10.00 a.m.
- Sports Activities, Novelty Match, by 4.00 p.m.
Day 4: Wednesday, 29 April 2026
- Convocation Lecture by 10.00 a.m.
- Convocation Drama by 4.00 p.m.
Day 5: Thursday, 30 April 2026
- Founder’s Day Thanksgiving Service at Convocation Arena, Website III, Abraka School by 10.00 a.m.
- Arts Exhibit by 2.00 p.m.
- Alumni Day by 4.00 p.m.
Day 6: Saturday, 2 May 2026
Convocation Day will feature:
- Award of Diplomas
- Admission into Very First Degrees
- Award of Greater Degrees
- Investiture of Professor Emeritus
- Conferment of Honorary Degrees
- Award of Prizes
Instructions for graduands
Graduands who wish to gather scholastic outfits should transfer the initial copies of their Statement of Results, where appropriate, and show evidence of payment for hiring of the academic dress at their Professors Offices.
These documents will be returned after the dress are returned in excellent condition, not behind Monday, 4 May 2026.
Failure to return a scholastic gown within the stated duration draws in a charge of N500 each day.
Rules graduands should keep in mind
Graduands are expected to observe the following:
- sign up with the convocation procession by 9.00 a.m.
- sit in the areas assigned to each professors in the convocation arena
- avoid unauthorised motion during the main event
- prevent taking photographs throughout the main event
- total photos and comparable activities before getting in the arena, or wait until after the ceremony
- rise as the academic procession gets in and leaves the location
- use the proper academic robe and keep to the colour repaired for each professors
- begin and total clearance in the College, School, or Faculty before the event
- provide an active email address for the trainee’s copy records
Instructions for postgraduate students
Postgraduate graduands, Doctorate and Master’s students, should be in their academic dress and sign up with the procession by 9.00 a.m.
. They are to gather their sales brochures from the Secretary to the Postgraduate School.
Instructions for parents, guardians, and welcomed guests
Moms and dads, guardians, and invited guests are encouraged to be seated at the location before 9.00 a.m. on Convocation Day.
They are likewise anticipated to remain orderly and rise as the academic procession enters and leaves the Convocation location.
