Trainees representing Education District IV have emerged top entertainers at the recent Food and Nutrition Competitors organised by the Home Economics Teachers Association of Nigeria (HETAN), showcasing remarkable culinary and dietary expertise.

The competition, which brought together participants from the six Lagos State Education Districts, was created to promote healthy consuming habits, imagination, and useful abilities among trainees. It also worked as a platform for learners to show proficiencies in food preparation, hygiene, nutrition, and presentation while fostering teamwork and healthy competition.

At the end of the keenly objected to occasion, a duo from Ansar-Ud-Deen Secondary school, Surulere, representing Education District IV, clinched first position. The trainees, Odeyinka AbdulSalam and Mbam Chimdalu Doris, stood apart for their remarkable discussion, creativity, and in-depth understanding of nutrition.

Speaking during a courtesy check out to the district head office, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Olufemi Bamidele Paseda, applauded the trainees for their exceptional efficiency and for making the district proud.

“This accomplishment is a testimony to the quality of teaching and the dedication of our students. Home Economics stays vital in equipping youths with necessary life abilities,” he stated.

The winning students presented their award to the district management and participated in a photo session with the Permanent Secretary, marking a proud moment for both their school and Education District IV.

The HETAN competition was commonly regarded as a success, even more strengthening nutrition education and encouraging active participation in Home Economics across Lagos State schools.
