The Federal University Oye-Ekiti, FUOYE, has opened postgraduate admission for the 2026/2027 scholastic session. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates into full-time programs under the School of Postgraduate Researches. The admission covers Ph.D, M.Phil/ Ph.D and Master’s degree programmes throughout a number of faculties in the university.

The university stated that the admission is for full-time research study.
Ph.D admission requirements
FUOYE stated Ph.D programmes are open to holders of Master’s degrees with a minimum score of 60% in their Master’s degree programmes.
A Ph.D program runs for a minimum of 3 sessions and a maximum of five sessions.
The university also stated that candidates will take pertinent courses for the Ph.D programme and complete a supervised thesis.
M.Phil/ Ph.D admission requirements
Candidates who score between 55.00% and 59.99% Cumulative Weighted Average, CWA, at Master’s level can request the M.Phil/ Ph.D program on full-time basis.
The programme runs for a minimum of one session. After that, a candidate might relocate to the Ph.D programme on excellent performance.
FUOYE specified that prospects in this category can convert to Ph.D candidature after a development evaluation report by a Panel of Examiners at the end of the very first session of registration.
To qualify for that conversion, the prospect must score a minimum of 60% aggregate at the end of the very first session.
Master’s degree admission requirements
A candidate seeking admission into a Master’s degree programme should have a minimum of Second Class Lower Department in a Bachelor’s degree.
Master’s degree programmes run for a minimum of 18 calendar months, that is three semesters, and a maximum of 24 calendar months, that is four terms, for full-time prospects.
FUOYE stated that all Master’s degree programs are by course work, followed by research work that ends with an argumentation.
Other conditions candidates ought to note
The university stated that a programme immediately lapses at the end of the optimum duration fixed for that program.
A prospect might make an application for an extension of approximately 12 months.
Prospects in regular work should send an official letter of release for postgraduate studies from their employers along with their applications.
All candidates who did not graduate from FUOYE must ask their previous universities or schools to send academic transcripts straight to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Researches.
For Master’s applicants, the records needs to be that of the First Degree.
For doctoral applicants, the transcript needs to be that of the Master’s degree.
