Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, has opened the JUPEB Program admission type for the 2026/2027 academic session. The program provides candidates a route to Direct Entry admission into 200 level in OAU, other universities in Nigeria, or abroad. Tabulation What the JUPEB program implies JUPEB is a nationwide assessment body that carries out evaluations for trainees who have finished approved subject mixes and seek Direct Entry admission into Nigerian and partner foreign tertiary organizations.
The evaluation body was approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria to fill the space produced by the discontinuance of Advance Level Examinations.
Who can apply
To be qualified for evaluations that lead to the award of JUPEB Direct Entry Certificates, a prospect must have gone through an extensive scheme of academic work connected to the proposed university course.
The fundamental entry requirement for enrolment is a minimum of five credit passes in the Senior Secondary Certificate Assessment, SSCE, or General Certificate of Education, GCE, Ordinary Level. The topics should relate to the chosen university course.
Subjects and course structure
Each prospect needs to register, sit for assessments, and please the Board in three topics and one General Studies course tied to the proposed course in any university.
Each topic is gotten into 4 courses. A prospect takes two courses per semester, making four courses because subject by the end of the programme.
The lead to all the courses are merged at the end of the second semester to produce the prospect’s grade because topic.
Each prospect is expected to take twelve courses in all; 6 per semester, in addition to a General Studies course.
The General Studies component for each university faculty is based on the appropriate general courses recommended for that professors by each university.
How the grading works
At the end of the program, students who finish it will get certificates based upon their level of performance.
The certificate carries letter grades of A, B, C, D, E or F in each of the 3 subjects and in the General Researches paper.
What candidates still require for university admission
Passing the JUPEB assessments for the Direct Entry Certificate is one part of the process.
For admission into any university, each prospect must also meet every other condition set by the university of choice. That point matters; the certificate stands with the university’s own admission rules.
Period of the programme
The period of the academic programme for the Board’s assessment is a minimum of one scholastic session comprised of two terms.
