The Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre, PLAC, is running a 10-week full-time Legislative Internship Program for 2026. The programme is backed by the European Union, EU, and targets young Nigerians who wish to gain understanding of legislative practice and process at the National Assembly.
It is a full-time positioning in Abuja, FCT, and the internship will range from May 2026 to July 2026.

- Table of contents Who can apply Candidates must fulfill these conditions: Be a Nigerian resident in between 21 and 35 years of age
- Hold at least a very first degree in any discipline from a tertiary school
- Have finished the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Program
- Have excellent English composing and speaking abilities

- Have outstanding interpersonal skills
Internship area and duration
PLAC states that the internship will take place in Abuja, FCT.
The program will last for 10 weeks, from May 2026 to July 2026. It is full-time; applicants require to keep that in view from the start.
Stipend and living plan
PLAC states chosen interns will receive stipends to cover transportation and lunch costs within Abuja.
All other logistics costs will be handled by the interns. PLAC also says applicants ought to be able to live in Abuja throughout the internship, or cover the expense of remaining there, because the centre will not supply lodging or moving costs.

Go to the PLAC internship recruitment portal.
Complete the kind and submit a CV
Candidates need to complete the online application form and upload a CV in Microsoft Word or PDF format. The file should be conserved in the candidate’s name.
The CV needs to include:
- State of origin
- Date of birth
- NYSC service information, consisting of location of service
Include a declaration of function
Candidates need to position a “Statement of Purpose” on the last page of the CV. The declaration needs to discuss why the applicant wants to participate in the internship.

- CV must not be more than 2 pages
- Statement of Function must not be more than 300 words
- Both should be combined and submitted as one document
- Overall length should not be more than three pages
PLAC also states applicants will copy and paste the Statement of Purpose into the online type.
Application due date
All applications need to be sent by 11:59 PM, West Africa Time, WAT, on Friday, 10 April 2026.
PLAC states late applications will not be thought about. Applications that do not meet the stated requirements will likewise not be thought about.
