The Federal government has stated Friday, 3 April 2026, and Monday, 6 April 2026, as
public holidays for this year’s Easter event. That statement sets the 2 Easter dates plainly; Friday for Great Friday, and Monday for Easter Monday.

The announcement came through a declaration signed by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr Magdalene Ajani. praised Christians in Nigeria and in the diaspora on Easter. He also advised Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance and love, as shown in the life and mentors of Jesus Christ. That call sits at the centre of the Easter message.
Federal government reiterates its objective
The minister reiterated that the objective of the government stays to make choices that would bring about nationwide rebirth, financial development, and shared prosperity.
