
Edo State University Iyamho has provided degrees on 850 graduates at its 7th Convocation Event held on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The graduating class made up 693 undergrads and 157 postgraduate students, with 72 undergrads earning first-class honours.
The ceremony was participated in by dignitaries, including Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, who was represented by Prof. Philip Afaha, Special Advisor on Policy and Method. The Pro-Chancellor, Olusegun Akinyinka, officially declared the occasion open.
In his remarks, Akinyinka commended the state federal government for its ongoing support of the institution and congratulated the graduates on their achievements.
“This event celebrates your vision, strength and the fulfilment of your dreams. Your certificates represent not just scholastic discipline, but character and quality,” he stated.
He prompted the graduates to see the milestone as the beginning of a new stage of life specified by commitment and success.
The Vice-Chancellor, Victor O. Adetimirin, also applauded the guv’s leadership, keeping in mind that it has actually cultivated a favorable environment for scholastic growth.
“We are confident that your future will be brilliant, impactful and filled with withstanding success,” Adetimirin told the graduating trainees.
