
Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has actually entered into a collaboration with Prince Interior Vocational Institute to reinforce entrepreneurship and useful skills advancement amongst students through a specialised training program in furniture production.
The partnership, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is expected to produce a minimum of 500 skilled furniture craftsmens within the first two years of the initiative.
Speaking throughout the finalizing ceremony held at the Council Chamber of the university on March 13, 2026, the Vice-Chancellor, Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, commended the institute for initiating the collaboration and thinking about the university a reputable partner for the entrepreneurial and occupation task.
She also expressed appreciation to members of the university management for their support in promoting scholastic quality, keeping in mind that the partnership lines up with the entrepreneurial development output requirements of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
“The partnership is one of the requirements for TETFund guidelines in entrepreneurial advancement output, and it will be useful to the entire NSUK neighborhood,” she said.
In her remarks, the Director of the Entrepreneurship Advancement Centre, Rashidah Funke Olanrewaju, revealed delight over the partnership, noting that students would gain from training in about 50 different abilities available at the centre.
She thanked the institute for the cooperation and revealed optimism that the partnership would be productive and advantageous to both celebrations.
Meanwhile, the management of the institute, led by its Ceo, Emeka Owgueke, applauded the management of the university for recognising the significance of professional education and business advancement in addressing youth unemployment and developing a resistant regional economy.
According to the institute, the partnership shows a shared commitment to producing opportunities for young Nigerians to obtain valuable skills and establish sustainable companies within the furniture and interior design industry.
Individuals in the programme will be exposed to the entire furnishings production worth chain, consisting of raw material sourcing, item production, finishing, branding, marketing, and circulation.
As part of the partnership, strategies are likewise underway to develop a medium-scale furnishings workshop within the university, equipped with essential devices to support useful training while helping the institution lower the cost of furnishings procurement.
Under the arrangement, trainees will get hands-on training in furniture making, interior item design, and company advancement, equipping them with the useful skills needed to develop and manage effective business after graduation.
