
The Federal Government of Nigeria has actually authorized an overall of N4 billion in take-off grants for two recently established tertiary institutions to accelerate their early operations and institutional development.
Under the plan, N2 billion each will be assigned to the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic in Abuja and the Federal University of Science and Technology situated in Epe.
The advancement was revealed by the Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, throughout the inauguration of key officials appointed to lead the recently developed organizations.
According to the minister, the grants are meant to support the smooth take-off and early advancement of the organizations.
“The take-off grants will support the organizations’ launch and growth, allowing them to overcome initial obstacles and develop a strong structure for future development,” Alausa said.
He stressed that the management of the freshly designated officials would play a critical function in reinforcing governance and driving academic excellence within the organizations.
“The functions of the freshly appointed authorities are crucial in strengthening management and governance in Nigeria’s tertiary education sector,” the minister included.
The Federal government noted that the funding reflects its commitment to expanding access to higher education and strengthening the country’s human capital development.
Officials said the organizations are expected to leverage the funds to establish academic structures, enhance infrastructure, and develop strong foundations for long-term growth and innovation in Nigeria’s tertiary education system.
