DUTSIN-MA, KATSINA STATE— The Senate of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) has authorized the rustication of 20 students following their involvement in different acts of evaluation malpractice.
The decision was formalised throughout the organization’s 138th Regular Senate Fulfilling, held this week at the Twin Theatre of the primary school.

The Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of the Senate, Prof. Mohammed Khalid Othman, stated that the rustication was carried out in rigorous accordance with the university’s recognized policies.
Particularly, the Senate conjured up Section 13.3, Subsection 13.3(c) of the FUDMA policy on assessment irregularities and academic misconduct to complete the charges.
The university’s Director of Information and Protocol, Nasiru M. Abdul, verified that the choice followed a thorough evaluation of the report sent by the Students’ Disciplinary Committee.

According to the university management, the rustication serves a double purpose: punishing the wrongdoers and serving as a deterrent to the more comprehensive trainee body. The Senate’s action becomes part of a wider effort within Nigerian tertiary institutions to fight the increasing wave of scholastic dishonesty.
By taking decisive action versus these infractions, FUDMA intends to ensure that its graduates are acknowledged both locally and internationally for their understanding and character.
Prof. Othman urged the staying trainees to “brace up and do the needful” by concentrating on their research studies and adhering to the ethical standards of the institution.
