The 2026/2027 African Liberty Writing Fellowship is open for applications. African Liberty says the fellowship is a 12-month programme produced to identify, train and magnify emerging African writers who appreciate the concepts of flexibility, individual rights and minimal government.
Applications opened on 1 March 2026 and will close on 30 April 2026.
What the fellowship provides Chosen participants will participate in a structured, year-long composing development program from July 2026
- to July 2027. Through the fellowship, individuals will: work carefully with skilled editors receive a monthly stipend as top factors gain opportunities
for television and radio functions get published in leading African newspapers That mix offers the fellowship a clear shape; training, composing assistance, and public direct exposure sit at the centre of it.
