In 2018, Andrew relocated to the UK to pursue a Master of Company Administration in Global Business at Coventry University.
During his time there, he served on the student council and signed up with the African and Caribbean Society, reinforcing his passion for leadership and community engagement throughout borders.Andrew later moved to
Australia to pursue his doctoral studies at Torrens University. His PhD research focused on “The Impact of Dynamic Abilities on the Efficiency of SMEs in Uganda.”
The research took a look at how little and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)– a significant foundation of Uganda’s economy– use innovation, adaptability, and learning to stay competitive and make it through in altering economic environments.Behind the accomplishment was
a long period of monetary struggle. Andrew revealed that his PhD was entirely self-funded, which indicated he needed to constantly balance full-time work with demanding scholastic research study. “Given that this was self-funded, there were difficulties stabilizing work and research studies. I was always behind on my tuition costs and was often gone after by the accounts and worldwide trainees’ workplace to clear my financial obligations,”he said.At a number of points, his enrolment was at threat of being cancelled since of unpaid tuition. However, he always found ways to settle his costs and continue his studies. To stay up to date with the monetary and academic pressure, Andrew worked while studying, often compromising sleep and personal time.
“Work matched school because it was the source of funds to pay tuition. However I needed to prioritise school, staying up late after work, and devoting weekends to studying simply to catch up.”His determination to achieve his objective kept him focused in spite of the exhaustion.Another obstacle he faced was the COVID-19 pandemic, which also disrupted his academic plans. Andrew had initially
prepared to relocate to Australia in June 2021, however global travel constraints delayed his relocation until March 2022. Despite the setback, he continued dealing with his managers online up until he might access the school and research study centers after limitations eased.Throughout the journey, Andrew credits his success to discipline, determination,
and clarity of function. “I knew what I wanted, and concentrating on that became my driving force. The only way to attain it was to push through thick and thin while stabilizing work and school, “he stated.
